Duro Omogbenigun,
Executive Director & Head of Energy
Duro Omogbenigun is Executive Director and Head of Energy at NPL Nigeria. Duro’s business experience has largely been in the energy sector spanning both the oil & gas industry and Electric Power Sector.
A Yale MBA graduate backed by electrical engineering degrees, he garnered superlative work experience from Mobil Oil Corporation at executive management, followed by entrepreneurial exploits building Integrated Resources Limited (IRL) and making a few notable investments in both the power and oil sectors with substantial exposure to contract documents in these sectors. He was a pioneer director with the promoter of one of the first private power plants in Nigeria currently generating about 160MW with scalable upside potential. Here he negotiated Power Purchase Agreements and supporting contract papers. IRL is by far one of the largest energy meter supply and installation companies nationwide and expanding shortly into West Africa.
In the oil sector, Duro traded refined petroleum products (physicals) and participated in the Petroleum Support Fund Program engaging in marine and land logistics. Upstream he negotiated acquisition of Marginal Oil Fields and Joint Operating Agreements with Chinese investors. He was also in a consortium that acquired an OPL in a Nigerian Oil Field bidding program.
Duro brings on board a network of contacts in the Nigerian environment with access to developmental & infrastructural projects.
